Booking

Courses can now be booked as follows:

In general, you can book in person, at the WEA Office & Centre from Monday to Friday, from 9.30 – 3.30pm, or by post. You can also enrol online for many courses. The point at which we start to take bookings varies from term to term.

By post: Complete the postal booking form from the brochure, or print a form from the link below, and post to WEA Office & Centre, 1 Stand Road, Chesterfield, S41 8SW.

In Person: At WEA Office & Centre, 1 Stand Road, Chesterfield, S41 8SW, or at the first session of the course.  Please bear in mind that a course may be full by this time.  It is strongly advisable to pre-enrol wherever possible to avoid disappointment.

Online: Click onto the link on the course description on this website. This will take you directly to the course information page where you can enrol for the course.

Alternatively, you can click on the link below and enter the C233**** number into the Course Ref: box and click on Search. You can also search using other criteria e.g. Postcode or Keyword

It may be possible to enrol at the first class, but we can’t guarantee a place and it is advisable to pre-book well in advance of the start date as courses with very low numbers may be cancelled prior to the first session.

Important Notice – Due to Fire Regulations there are strict limits on the number of students per classroom. Some classes may also have limited student numbers for educational reasons. It is therefore advisable to enrol as early as possible.

Fees
Fees for courses must be paid in full at the time of booking. For postal bookings you will only receive a receipt confirming your enrolment if you enclose a stamped addressed envelope (SAE). 

In addition if you receive any of the following benefits you may be entitled to a fee concession:

Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) in the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG)
Income Support
Universal Credit
Working Tax Credit & with a household income below £15,276 a year
Housing benefit
Council tax benefit (but not 25% single occupancy Council Tax discounts)
Pension Guarantee Credit (if you have an award notice)
If you are an unwaged dependant (as defined by Job Centre Plus) of someone who receives the income-related benefits listed you will not pay a fee
Asylum Seeker

You can also claim for help with essential books and equipment, trips, travel and childcare from our Student Support Fund. Also if you’re not on benefit but have a household income of under £15,276 a year you may also qualify for help with fees and other course costs. Help is limited to three courses a year. Enquire in confidence when you book your course.

Payment
When booking in person you may pay by cheque or cash. When booking by post enclose a cheque or postal order (do not send cash). Please make cheques payable to ‘WEA Chesterfield Branch’. We cannot take payment by card locally, but you can pay by card if you enrol online.
